Project AYUDA was developed to help support seniors re-enter the workforce. It is funded by the Department of Labor and helps people 55 or older with limited income find work at jobs with community based nonprofit organizations. Participating seniors work part time and get paid $7.35 per hour. The workers are evaluated on their skills and experience and are provided with training.

NCD provides Project Ayuda with office space and access to technology for administration. The program has been active in  Santa Cruz County for 7 years and currently has 22 seniors placed with 7 nonprofit organizations. Project Ayuda is interested in signing up additional qualified nonprofit organizations to host senior Project Ayuda workers. For more information about Project Ayuda, please contact NCD at 397-9219.

At NCD, Project Ayuda participants assist our staff with administrative duties, client intake and filing.
